End of semester and scheduling

Only 10 more days of classes plus 3 days of finals and that's it for this semester!  Then I will go back to my normal stay at home mom routine of laundry, dishes, pottying, bribing, you get the idea.

I am all set for next semester too, which starts January 19th. I'm taking seven classes for a total of 18 credits:
Basic Microbiology (3) *required by nursing
Organic Chemistry (2) *required by nursing
Professional Nursing (1) *required by nursing
History of US: Formative Period (3) *required LER Humanities course
Music as a World Phenomenon (3) *required Global Diversity fine arts course
Photography Studio (2) *general elective needed to meet credit requirements
Modeling Algebra (4) *required by nursing for critical reasoning LER

*LER = Liberal Education Requirements = more money I have to pay to become a "well-rounded" graduate.  I'm taking my LERs as web courses which is nice.

Not sure what I will end up with as far as GPA, I didn't fare so well on my last Chemistry exam so that could either go A or B depending on how I do on my final.  Structure & Function (A&P) which is a five credit course I have a 98% in before any curve.  Sociology.  WAAAAAAHH.  I hate the "I'm a victim" philosophy and I personally do not feel it is appropriate for a "lecturer" (not even a real professor!) to use an audience of 450 students to preach his liberal agenda.  Like self-interpretation of raw data to make the USA look like failures.  But I will still walk out with a B or B+.  Not where I wanted to be or should be, but I will be okay regardless.

Photo Post

I had a ton of fun this morning playing with my new camera - a Nikon D3000 DSLR.  The details are incredible, even in point-and-shoot (auto) mode.  I love the speed the best of all though because I missed SO many of these hugging and kissing shots in the past, now I can get every single one of them :)

The D3000 is a 10.2mp Digital SLR and came with 18-55mm VR lens which is what I used in these photos.  Although I'm certain I will end up getting a 55-200mm lens at some point also.  It is a replacement of the old model D60 and has a lot of really nice features - guide mode - which makes the camera very intuitive.

I think you can click on the images to make them larger to see the detail.  None were shot in manual mode, all in "child" setting in auto focus.

I am going private and switching over to just Facebook.  So if you know me (like we've emailed eachother, etc, and not just a "lurker" and would like to friend me there, please do!).  If you're unsure if we know eachother, send me an email anyway!

Email:  briannegibson@hotmail.com

I am having coping skills issues so I just want to know who's reading each word I type and I don't want the hassel of actually using a private blog.  So since we're all on FB anyway, it just makes sense.  And I can more easily guard my photos.

3 Years Old!

I can't believe the twins are 3 years old today!  It's amazing how fast it really goes.  We had a really great party that I know they enjoyed, and they were given some awesome birthday presents!  Also, they got to spend lots of time outside riding their bikes on the deck and, even though they had no nap because of all the party company, they just crashed a few minutes ago for the night- at 9:30 pm- a record for them.  Here's to a sleeping-in-Sunday :)

Anyone who needs ideas for three year olds, here is a few things that Allison and Ryan got today that I would recommend:

Little Tikes Big Slide
Step2 Write Desks
Baby Genius Pretend Veternarian Kit
Baby Genius Pretend Doctor Kit
Puzzle Storage Rack (okay so that is kinda selfishly one of my favorite things they got today so we can keep pieces and puzzles together)
Disney DVDs (hello free 90 minutes for homework while listening to Lion King in the background!)
